About Southern Wisconsin Learn To Skate USA

Jump-Start your skating with Learn To Skate USA offered by Southern Wisconsin Skating School. Learn to Skate USA is the only USA ice skating program endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and U.S. Speedskating.   Learn to Skate USA via Southern Wisconsin Skating School offers a progressive curriculum that starts with non- skaters through advanced levels of skating, i.e. recreational, figure, hockey and speed skating -  tots through adults. Basic 4 and above will have 45 minute classes; the first 15 miutes will be devoted to edge work, power and technique.

Do you want to advance your figure skating at a faster rate?

JUNIOR CLUB Bridge Program  will start again in September of 2018.  Eligible Skaters are non Club Members from class levels  Basic 4 - FS-6.  Junior club will meet for one hour on the FS ice at a special rate.  They will receive a semi private lesson for 1/2 hour and then will practice on their own for the remaining 1/2 hour.  Junior club Members have the option to join either hour of club Ice on Mondays or Thursdays.  See registration for those days and hours.  A junior club member may also take one hour on Mondays AND one hour on Thursdays.  Enrollment is limited to 2 skaters/hour.  Junior club members will have the option to join the SWFSC at a reduced "introductory" rate.  SWFSC apparel is available to Junior Club Members.

What to Wear
We recommend warm clothing that allows freedom
of movement, and gloves or mittens. We also require
that Snowplow Sam and Hockey skaters (ages 3-6)
wear helmets (bike or hockey) . For all classes, please
allow at least 15 minutes to put on your child's skates.
A basic  quality skate is highly recommended!   We provide the rink "rental skates" free of charge for the lessons.  Basic 4 and above are recommended to have their own skates.  The SWFSC has  huge supply of high quality used skates at a minimal cost.  Please check with Mrs Sue Cook  sue_cook@charter.net  to set a time to check fit and quality.  Alternatively, you may either purchase or rent from Crossovers Pro shop at Madison Ice Arena, Verona Ice Arena or Waunakee Ice Arena.  This shop has either a 6 month rental program or one can purchase new skates of the quality we recommend at affordable prices.
