Southern Wisconsin Skating School offers a progressive curriculum that starts with non- skaters through advanced levels of skating, i.e. recreational, figure, hockey and speed skating - tots through adults.
Basic 4 and above have 45 minute classes; the first 15 minutes will be devoted to edge work, power and technique.
snowplow through basic 3 has 30 minute classes and 45 minutes of supervised practice. Parents and skaters use this time to interact with instructors in a non structured environment for questions and helpful tips for their children. A fun profitable time for all.
About our Junior Club/Bridge Program
Do you want to advance your figure skating at a faster rate? Join the "Junior Club Bridge Program".
Eligible Skaters are non Club Members from class levels Basic 4 - FS-6. Junior club will meet for one hour on the Club Free Style ice Mondays 5:15-6:15 at a special rate. They will receive a semi private lesson for 1/2 hour and then will practice on their own for the remaining 1/2 hour. Junior Club membership is limited to 2 skaters/hour. Junior Club members gat a taste of a real free style session and skate along with the Club Members on ice exclusive to the SWFSC members. Junior Club Membership is good for one school Season; September 2018 through April 2019. Junior Club meets for 6 Mondays during each session of this school year. Junior Club members can participate in the Shows with the Club members as well as receive a certificate for Junior club Membership and can purchase any of the Club Exclusive SWFSC apparel.

Off ice training for SWSS skaters.

Pre Requisites: Current registration in Basic 3-and above. The skaters will be divided into groups according to level. Advanced stroking; edges, controlled turns, power crossovers and jump entry and positions before, during and after the jump will be emphasized.

This class is ideal for those skaters who want to advance faster through the Basic Skills progression as well as learn new techniques and become stronger in turns, edges and power as a pre-preparation for testing in the USFS Moves in the Field and Free Skate Test Progression.
Students in this class are recommended to have their own or a 6 months rental of appropriate quality skates. Interested in accelerating your Figure Skating? Join the “Bridge Program" where you will receive 1/2 hour of semi-private lessons + 1/2 hour of practice time on the Junior Club Free Style Contract Ice. Skate with the Junior Club members using the whole ice sheet to improve all your figure skating techniques, power, jumps, spins and footwork along with your similarly aged peers.
