Aspire Program 2020

The U.S. Figure Skating Aspire program is the bridge between learn to skate group classes and U.S. Figure Skating membership. Through the development of athleticism and artistry, skaters build a solid skill foundation that drives success on and off the ice.

WHY ASPIRE?
Aspire offers skaters an affordable, comprehensive package program in a safe and supportive group training environment. Skaters will learn proper skill development and training techniques while sampling different skating opportunities and fine-tuning their fundamental skating skills.

Programming differs depending on your location, but all programs are designed to help skaters learn to train like a figure skater. From edge classes to spin pyramids, you’ll learn how to warm up like a champion, navigate freestyle sessions and practice on your own.

Check with your local rink, Learn to Skate USA program or figure skating club to find out if they offer the Aspire program.

RESOURCES FOR SKATERS
The Aspire program marks the transition from skater to figure skater and teaches athletes of all ages the skills they need to make the most out of their figure skating journey. From tips for practicing on your own to a repeatable off-ice warm-up, resources from the Aspire program will help you become the best skater you can be.

During this first session of the Aspire program, we will cover proper off-ice techniques, practice on-ice skills including beginner jumps, spins, turns, and edges, have an introduction to synchronized skating and artistry in motion, and learn more about the sport of figure skating!
There is an on-ice portion on Sunday nights at the Verona Ice Arena where your skater will get to skate on the club ice and you will have the option to stay and practice for the full session (6:30pm - 8:00pm). There will also be an off-ice portion online on Wednesday nights.

We will also be participating in the Holiday Show as a group. Please indicate if you are able to participate in the show with us! If you are enrolled in our Learn to Skate program, you may participate in both performances or one or neither.
